Year: 2020
Way long back in history
eager to see the monsoon rain
these two little girls
opened their eyes to the world
time was different
different were the places
but the day was same.
Birthday twins they were
yet uniquely apart
but as I sat down to write this one
bull's eye hit my dart.
Underneath different personalities
they share the same core
Out of all the possible celebrities they could fall for
they both had a 'thing' for pace bowlers.
Princess (as we call her) found her charming prince
in the eyes of this ruggled-looking guy
she found heaven's glimpse.
Ms. A's heart skips countless beats
when he smiles that cute smile of his
or winks, or speaks
she sighs and floats in love
love that runs down deep.
Their love gave them that spark
To go for the impossible
the 'one' thing they both could die for
became their 'mission' to live.
Whenever they used to talk about
one day meeting their love
I never took them seriously
and scratched it calling 'just another crush.'
Oblivious I was
to their actions and decisions
but today as I look back
in my eyes, they are achievers.
While Princess went on to be an I.F.S. officer
and proposed Zaheer: 'ON AIR'
Ms. A, an eminent sports journalist
was asked out by Brett 'Cute-smile' Lee in half-time of a match: 'ON AIR'
Miracle, some might call it
Others call it Good Luck
But no one really knows
to be what they are today
they had so much to give up.
Heartbreaks, Tears, Failures, Fear
they both sailed through them all
The 'Birthday Twins' had their destiny
Written in the Stars...
